Health and Safety Plan
Boundary Bay Montessori School staff have worked continuously to adapt to the changing landscape of education during the COVID-19 pandemic. We are committed to provide the safest possible environment for our students during this time and to bring as much normalcy as possible for our young students.
Emergency Management Plan
BBMS is involved in an ongoing Emergency Preparedness program to ensure the care and safety of each student at our school. Our emergency preparedness plan and procedures are outlined in the School Emergency Management Plan.
Meeting with the Teaching Team
We ask that if you require a meeting with the teaching team, please book a formal appointment by email or phone. We can usually meet requests for meetings within a week.
Weather Closures
In the case of school closure due to inclement weather (snow) and power outages (wind), you will be notified via email through our school communication platform, Transparent Classroom, by 7:00 am.
Parent Education
We hold two parent evenings per year and require the attendance of at least one parent. The purpose of these evenings is to involve parents in understanding elements of Montessori curriculum or provide education around topics that are important to families living in today’s society. Two additional meetings are concerned with school business, namely the New Parent Orientation (September) and the MIND AGM (September or October). Attending these meetings keep families up to date with school developments, and provides a regular forum in which to learn with your child. Attendance at parent education evenings counts toward the parent participation volunteer commitment (2 hours for each parent meeting attended).
Parents Library
A lending library of various Montessori journals and publications is available for parents whose children attend the school.
